Skin care tips for acne prone skin

Hey lovelies,

So my skin has been doing a lot better lately and I promised to share a bit of what I have been doing differently in the past two or so months. Right in the middle of the new routine though, I found out that my skin is dehydrated which kinda tweaked how I do my morning and evening routine. So let’s get into the post.

Cleansing.

  • I wash my face with soap once a day. Washing multiple times was drying my face and caused me to have dehydrated skin.

  • I use diluted baby wash. Basically you need a gentle wash… most acne washes are really harsh on your face and super dry your skin. I stopped using black soap.

Over drying your skin will cause your skin to go overdrive and produce more oil thus causing more pore-clogging. (Vicious cycle much?)

Steaming

  • I steam at most once a week. I add rose water to my steam water… it really leaves your skin feeling amazing!!

Masks

  • I mask once a week… on the day I steam. I will share the complete routine in a later post. Ps: I don’t exfoliate and mask on the same day

  • I use three basic masks:

    • bentonite clay mask

      • charcoal mask

      • salt mask

Exfoliation

  • I use the glove that I shared about here… and I lightly exfoliate two- three times a week.

Toning

  • I use rose water or a mixture of rose water and glycerine on a cotton pad and dab on my skin. This is particularly gentle on my skin.

Moisturising

  • I use this neem cream and it feels so good on my face. I switched my aloe Vera gel for this because it is more moisturising.

Diet

  • I cut out unnecessary sugar from my life. Yes no more cakes, soda, cocoa, coffee etc. ( still struggling with potatoes)

  • Chia water is my new best friend after B. It is my favourite way of taking nutrients.

  • Vitamin C in the morning!! Yes to lemon water, mangoes and orange juice etc.!! (First thing in the morning.)

And that’s it… do you have any other ways you deal with acne? Please share….

Gentle Reminder

Heyy you!! Yes you reading this… you have gotten to the end of October. Congratulations!! I hope it was not too hard on you…

I’m seated here on my bed typing, and I can’t shut this nudging feeling to put down this gentle reminders not only for you but for me too. You see, I’m currently not having a very relaxed mind, and that is partly because I feel like everybody in the world needs me… and not in a good way. More like in a way that stretches you and really drains you as it were. Technically it shouldn’t bother me, but it’s almost like I should switch off my phone and almost take a communication cleanse (which I will eventually, right now they may be some pressing matters preventing me from doing so)

You are enough… yes you are enough… you actually need to believe this. Sometimes in a quest to make a couple of people happy, you forget that you are actually more than enough. You are smart, you are beautiful and you are unique which is your greatest asset.

You will always be too much of something to someone, and it is not necessarily a bad thing, make peace with that. Everyone definitely has an opinion, and is entitled to one just as much as you are entitled to the choice of whether to take it or not.

You need time for yourself as well… to unwind, to release and to recharge. Nobody feeds fro am empty source, and in order for you to be as awesome and as effective as you ought, you need to take time off. That spa, that gym, that forest or that silent retreat, just for you. Don’t allow yourself to be drained by family or friends or your relationships… take time off.

Learn to say NO (note to self). Know when you can’t do it, it is okay to be tired or to have too much to do. It is okay not to want to see people and to recoil and cocoon and think about life.

SMILE often… even if it is the smile after slaying your hair and you are pouting and goofing on the mirror. Try and build joy from within and resist the urge to lapse into negativity. Keep up positive vibes and cut off negative influence.

DREAM big… it is okay to do so… PUSH yourself to achieve the dreams you have set… overcome the urge to be complacent and stay CONSISTENT and PERSISTENT!!

PRAY!!! (says prayer) talk to HIM, it is so therapeutic and it helps a lot!! HE is the real MvP trust me!!

Most of all, try each and everyday to love and appreciate who you are, and what you do to make the world a better place for someone.

Breakfast Ideas

Hey lovelies….

What is the hardest question you have had to answer in a while? Probably a proposal. My hardest question is usually what to eat. For some reason I don’t like to think about it much. Maybe it is the school work I don’t know. So I decided to put up a few suggestions of what my breakfasts looks like on a mostly every day basis.

I like my breakfasts heavy because the energy it gives you is unmatched. Breakfast has this power to inject you with some energy that is unmatched and unparalleled .

  1. Avocado-toast-green tea

  2. Fried rice and some tea

  3. Mango puree?

  4. My banana icecream

  5. Sphagetti-salad-omelette
